I keep meaning to sit down and tell you about this fantastic group we went to last week, and YAY after a hectic few days I finally have the time!
Little Bear’s Soft Play in Eastbourne recently approached us to attend one of their messy play sessions, and my first thought was there was no way I would be able to cope with two toddlers getting messy and running around but they, and I absolutely loved it!
Little Bear’s Soft Play is a family run business offering soft play, themed messy play and creative storytelling sessions for under 5s. They also cater for wedding childcare entertainment, birthday parties and messy play parties too!
To be honest, I don’t think I really need to say much about the session as the photos throughout this post will speak volumes!
We were greeted by a very smiley Naomi and her mum when we arrived at the ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ themed messy play session. Clark (3) and Cruise (1) were eager to get started and were excitedly looking at all the different stations.. me, I was more relieved that Naomi had reminded me to bring an extra pair of clothes for them and a towel, even more so after feasting my eyes on the delights they were about to throw themselves into!
There was no stopping them as soon as the safety gate opened (plenty of these around too, so it’s definitely a secure place for your children!) and as always Clark went one way and Cruise the other!
There was so much for them to rummage in, all with different textures and colours – Their senses must have had a field day. To tie in with the theme there was also a very creative tunnel for ‘We have to go through it!’ and a tent with sand in as the bear’s cave.
Clark really enjoyed playing with the water track and in the flour, and Cruise loved playing in the mud and with the aqua beads. You could really tell everything had been thought through as to what the children would enjoy.
The two-hour session starts with an hour or so of messy play followed by a free snack selection and outdoor play, and for £7 per child, siblings for £6 it really is worth every penny!
Naomi is extremely friendly and easy to talk to, and with her teaching background I could really tell how much passion and enthusiasm she puts into her group. She made the effort to speak to all the adults and children, and Clark loved spending time with her before we left playing with the playdoh.
So if you’re looking for something to do on a Thursday, or fancy trying one of Little Bear’s Soft Play sessions I’d definitely recommend the messy play one! We're trying out Little Bear's storytelling session next Thursday 6th April where the theme is Paw Patrol! These sessions include a story with puppets, role play, song time and themed cooking crafts (Clark will be super pleased about cooking!) So I'll post a review once we've been!
Little Bear’s Soft Play runs on:
Monday’s 9:45am – 11:45am (soft play only, £1.50-£3.00 )
Thursday’s 10am – 12pm (alternate messy play and storytelling sessions £7.00).
All held at the Community Wise in Old Town.
You can find out more about Little Bear’s Soft Play on their Facebook page, and also keep an eye out on their page to see what the next theme will be!
Thank you Naomi – We’ll see you soon! I'd love to read your comments if you've been to any Little Bear's Soft Play sessions, so if you have been leave them below!
Little Bear's Soft Play will also be at Creation Station's Easter Eggstravaganza this Saturday - Find out more details on my events calendar here.
